Acid Builds: Corrosion, Growth, and a Clear Evidence Boundary

Reviewed for Patch 1.0.487Last updated: August 6, 2026

The game calls this element Acid and its Transmutation Corrosion. The current item pool has real single-target and crowd tools, but this site does not yet have a fixed Hunter route it can honestly call universal.

Game data

Acid / poison shorthandTransmutation: Corrosion

Players who want to test growth-fed status damage, corrosion spread, or an item-led route without pretending the Hunter pairing is settled.

Hunter pairing

There is no fixed Hunter recommendation on this page yet. Choose the Hunter whose skill engine is already working, then test whether the Acid weapon changes the run's actual job.

Acid / poison shorthand

Boss job / Crowd job / Pivot rule

Boss job

Conquest Dominator, Acidolysis Round, and mark-style Acid weapons point toward single-target pressure, but the route still needs a comparable live-run sample.

Crowd job

Corrosion spread and Combustible Poison give Acid a visible crowd-clear direction. Test whether the room dies from repeated status events before sacrificing a working weapon.

Pivot rule

If Corrosion is not appearing often enough by the mid run, return to the weapon and element already clearing rooms. A Legendary drop is not a route by itself.

No fixed Hunter answer yet

The current Acid item data is strong enough to build a candidate list, but this site does not have an independent live-run sample that binds it to one Hunter. Use a Hunter whose engine is already working, then test one Acid item at a time in Planner.

The element, Transmutation, and item effects are game-data facts. Hunter pairing and Acid's exact boss or crowd ceiling are marked needs-testing.

Flower Cannon

Update 1.0.479 changed Flower Cannon's effect. Use the current in-game tooltip before building around its bloom and projectile behaviour.

Relic direction

Acid Mark

A straightforward acid stat piece: carrying it hands you a chunk of [Growth] up front, and every stack you accumulate keeps pushing your acid output toward its 20% cap. If your build converts [Growth] into damage, this is a dependable early anchor.

Cross-checked route

Relic direction

Acidolysis Round

The relic that makes a pure acid build work: beyond a huge flat acid boost, its unique passive lets every point of acid damage bonus also power up your basic bullets, so all your acid stacking converts into general firepower. If you see it, you can commit the whole run to acid.

Cross-checked route

Relic direction

Combustible Poison

Turns [Corrosion] kills into chain reactions: poisoned enemies explode on death, splashing acid that spreads the ailment further, with your [Growth] stacks pumping the blast. In dedicated acid builds it clears packs almost on its own.

Cross-checked route

Relic direction

Vitality Orb

The converter that makes [Growth] stacks pay acid dividends — and the rate doubles while you sit at full health. Pairs growth hoarding with a careful, damage-avoidant playstyle for maximum output.

Evidence boundary

The element, Transmutation, and item effects are game-data facts. Hunter pairing and Acid's exact boss or crowd ceiling are marked needs-testing.

Use the real choices on your screen for the next step: protect the engine clearing the room, then decide whether the element deserves a full pivot.
