Our evidence labels

Official / in-game data covers release facts, patch notes, and current English game text.

Data-backed blueprint connects checked mechanics into a playable route. It is useful guidance, not a claim that the route is universally best.

Community report means independent player experiences point in the same direction, with conditions stated.

Needs testing means an idea is useful enough to investigate but not strong enough to recommend as fact.

Why the dates matter

Pass the Fear launched in July 2026 and received several updates in its first week. The current research baseline is V1.0.503. Future build cards should show the game build and review date so old advice can be rechecked after balance changes.

How a page is reviewed

The Pass the Fear build guide separates three kinds of statements: facts that can be checked in the game or an official announcement, route interpretations assembled from those facts, and observations that still need a controlled run. That separation lets a reader use the page immediately while seeing which part may move after an update.

When a mechanic changes, the affected page keeps its URL and records the new patch in the visible review stamp. We update the explanation or add a focused child page when the new question has its own search intent; we do not silently rewrite an old conclusion or erase the conditions under which it was useful. Related routes, the Planner, and the patch record are linked so the change can be followed in context.

A correction request is checked against the page's source notes and the current in-game wording before publication. If the evidence is incomplete, the page says so and keeps the recommendation in a testing state. This is why a focused route page can be more useful than a broad claim: it tells the reader exactly what was checked, what remains uncertain, and where to continue.

Sources

Release details and balance changes come from the Steam and the official update feed. The installed Steam build is the primary source for the item names, effects, internal IDs, and local icons used by the planner; character and item relationships are also checked against Hunter Archive, an independent reference that describes checking names, effects, and localized text against current in-game behavior.

Game-related image ownership and attribution are collected on the Copyright & Attribution page.

The planner currently maps icons for all seven Hunters, 119 skills, 45 weapons, 44 Tarot faces, and the active relic pool. Each mapped asset has a local availability check.

Corrections

This is an independent fan project. Patch-sensitive claims are dated, and a build is downgraded to Needs testing when an official update changes a mechanic it depends on.
