This review follows the official Update 8.5 / V1.0.487 notes and the local Steam build 24569370 / PackageInfo 487. The item effects below are official; route advice is our interpretation, and Blood Moon enemy details still need in-game testing.

What changed

ItemChangeWhat it means for your build
The Blood Moon Has Arrived
Added
Adds the Blood Moon difficulty, golden versions of Weapons and Weapon Parts after clearing it, and achievements for the new difficulties.Difficulty routes and unlock planning. The Blood Moon page now records the shipped feature, while exact enemy and boss rules remain a live-testing question.
Battle Scar reroll
Added
Battle Scars can be rerolled at the start of a run.Opening decisions. A bad starting scar is now something to evaluate before committing resources to a route.
Training Room
Added
Talk to Dummy in camp to enter a room where builds can be configured and tested freely.Planner verification. Use it to check delivery, trigger timing, and practical feel; the site still will not turn one test into a universal DPS ranking.
Item Encyclopedia
Added
Adds an Item Encyclopedia to the system menu.In-run reference. The site can focus on route fit and trade-offs instead of pretending the encyclopedia replaces the Planner.
Silent Hermit
Reworked
Silent Hermit no longer takes effect outside combat.Battle Scar choices. Treat it as a combat-only effect and do not count it as a global outside-combat bonus.
Overloaded Capacitor
Reworked
Normal: entering combat fully charges Ultimate and makes the next Ultimate free. Forged: the next 2 Ultimates are free. Each Ultimate fires 10 Capacitor Rounds for 200% Lightning Damage, or 500% when Forged; damage doubles against [Disruption].Ultimate and Lightning routes. The item is now an opening burst plus a repeated-cast payoff, so old advice about faster gauge buildup is stale.
King Hunter's Bullet
Reworked
Normal: Bullet Attack Cap +50%, Smite Chance +50%, and the cap is doubled. Each Smite that deals damage adds another 50% cap until battle ends. Forged uses +120% cap, +100% Smite Chance, and +120% per Smite.Smite and heavy single-shot routes. The old extra-damage wording is no longer current; the payoff is a cap that grows as Smite keeps landing.
English voice acting
Added
Adds English voice acting.Accessibility and presentation only; no Planner score or route rule changes.

How each Hunter route is affected

This is route guidance, not a measured damage ranking. Keep the Hunter's existing job first, then test the changed item only when its trigger already appears in the route.

HunterRoute impactWhat to do next
MarcusThe firing engine remains a clean baseline for testing Blood Moon delivery.Use the Training Room to check whether the weapon keeps reaching targets during the mode's pressure windows before adding a new payoff.
JennyThe economy route gains a new opening decision from Battle Scar rerolls.Reroll a starting scar only when it removes a real route problem; keep room power ahead of a perfect economy setup.
JesterBlood Moon makes protected crit windows more valuable to test, but the mode does not justify adding unrelated conditions.Keep the luck window reliable first. Record the exact enemy or boss failure before replacing a stable crit piece.
StellaOverloaded Capacitor is now a direct Ultimate-opening and Lightning payoff.Use it when the route already casts Ultimate and applies [Disruption]; test the first free cast in the Training Room before chasing a second copy.
Long TongThe one-element companion route is still a useful control case while Blood Moon rules are being mapped.Keep the element coherent and log whether the companion can safely keep contributing during the new mode's boss windows.
ElenaThe patch adds no direct Elena rule; the new Training Room helps separate delivery failure from damage failure.Test mark delivery and movement first. Do not trade those tools for a Blood Moon reward before the route can reach its targets.
LannyThe new reroll option can protect an economy opening, but it also creates another resource sink.Spend the reroll only when the starting scar blocks the next combat job; otherwise keep the coins for immediate power.

Build routes that still fit after this patch

  • Marcus Extra-Shot Crit The core route still explains a repeatable firing engine. Use the Training Room to test delivery before adding a patch-sensitive payoff.
  • Stella Ultimate / Lightning Overloaded Capacitor is worth testing when the route already casts Ultimate and applies Disruption; do not force both conditions from zero.
  • Jenny dismantle economy The economy route still provides a clear fallback when a Blood Moon or Smite candidate does not fit the current run.

What to watch after this patch

These are the interactions worth checking in your next runs. Use the practical effects below rather than treating an exact damage number as guaranteed.

  • Blood Moon's enemy modifiers, boss patterns, and whether its rewards behave as a separate difficulty route or a special challenge layer.
  • Whether Battle Scar rerolls preserve the full unlocked pool and how many rerolls a run can afford before the first room.
  • Overloaded Capacitor's interaction with repeated Ultimate triggers and Disruption application in real rooms.
  • King Hunter's Bullet's cap math, stacking order, and practical value on weapons that already approach the Bullet Attack ceiling.
  • The exact unlock presentation for golden Weapons and Weapon Parts after a Blood Moon clear.

How to use this page

If a build guide anywhere — including ours — does not name the patch it was written for, it is not telling you enough to act on. Check the version stamp, then check whether anything your damage loop depends on appears in the table above.

Test a revised loadout in the build planner, which scores synergy and flags conflicts, or start from the current best build blueprints. All patch reviews are listed on the patch notes index.
